The Minstrel’s Office

Part 1

I am not a trained musician. If I touch a piano, a guitar, or even drums, the most I can do is help a real musician move them to his car, or to the platform. I have always wanted to play an instrument, but never had the drive and discipline. Singing on the other hand… is even worse. The only time I sing is when I worship, and even that sometimes is hard to stand. Despite not ever being able to play an instrument, and not being the best singer, the Lord has really given me a heart for minstrels. To see musicians make the transition into the intimate quarters of our God and given a name, a grace and an assignment is something I see as an honor and a privilege. I truly believe that we are living in significant times. We are living in times where the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is truly beginning to understand and step into our assignment here on planet Earth. We are seeing a significant transition in many different spheres: preaching is now no longer about homiletics and sermons, but about shifting the Heavens and opening regions. Giving is no longer about building projects but about displacing poverty in our communities. Praise and Worship is no longer bound in the sector of entertainment but is about exalting a Mighty God. With these shifts we are also seeing a shift within callings and anointings. People in the House of God are beginning to see their role in the advancement of the Kingdom of God. No longer can we allow ushering to be a part time job, there is an anointing of helps that must be present (1 Cor. 12:28). One of the major revelations that the Body of Christ is beginning to place a demand on, more and more, is in the area of music and musicians. For too long we have allowed the musicians to slip through the cracks of religion without finding destiny and purpose.. that day is OVER!!!

The Office of the Minstrel is a very unique calling, and it’s extremely important. This office encompasses many different aspects and areas. In the world today, they not only take on the identity of musicians, but music engineers, producers, and even music managers. What is a Minstrel? A minstrel is one who is skilled and anointed, one who is called to release the Sound of Heaven in the Earth. The minstrel’s office is closely related to that of the prophet. While the prophet releases what God is saying, the minstrels release what God is singing. The word “minstrel” in the Hebrew is “nagan“, and it literally means to “strike the string”, which gives us an understanding of warfare. The minstrel is a warrior. This is what David meant, when he said, “teach my hands to war, and my fingers to fight” (Psalm 144:1). Usually minstrels are prophets, but only a few prophets are minstrels. Minstrels are very valuable because it takes a certain level of skill to occupy that office. Minstrels must be skilled in their instrument and must be masters at their craft.

Sound is very important. Sound ushers in new movements. Sound is also a dimension of culture as well. Sound can usually help one identify what nation one belongs to. The minstrel helps to establish the culture of Heaven in the Earth in a very real way. I believe that we, like never before, need minstrels to raise up and understand their role in the Kingdom of God. Minstrels must see their job as an office and not a part-time gig. They must embrace the dimension of SONSHIP and no longer lock themselves into being hirelings. This shift must happen for the Body of Christ to move forward and there are a few things that we can do to see that happen.

The Spirit of David is being released like never before in our day. Where an unprecedented amount of Quality Leaders, MEGA GIFTS is what I call them, are being anointed for service. These leaders are preachers, businessmen, warriors and minstrels. Let us deal with minstrels in this presentation. Since minstrels are to release the Sound of Heaven, they themselves are instruments. They not only play instruments, but they become an INSTRUMENT for the sound and culture of God to manifest on Earth. Since they then are indeed instruments, it is very important that the instrument be tuned and pure.

Rom. 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

The minstrel must present his/her BODY as a living sacrifice. For so long we have settled for impure minstrels.. musicians that take smoke breaks, fornicators and homosexuals. This, we can no longer accept. As pastors and leaders of Houses we must demand more of our minstrels. They must be people of commitment and loyalty and not money and opportunity. Minstrels operate in what I call “The Order of David”, this is the pattern that David set up for worship and warfare. Minstrels have keys.

Is. 22:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

Minstrels have the grace to open the treasuries of God’s heart. They open places in the Heavens and release sounds never heard before. This is why minstrels must spend adequate time in the presence of the Lord. They must be very careful of their environments and surroundings (we will deal with this in depth in the next blog: Cultivating the Anointing). Minstrels are sound carriers, so this makes it very easy for them to retain what they hear, and what they are around. Lucifer was this type of being:

Ezek. 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Lucifer, who is Satan before he fell from Heaven, was covered in jewels. Jewels not only reflect and refract light, but they also capture and release light. Lucifer would go into the presence of God, soak up the light and sound of God, and then go out among the congregation of the Mighty, and release this light and sound, which would cause all of Heaven to fall down and worship. Lucifer did his job so well, he began to think that the praises belonged to him. The minstrel’s job is to go into the heights of Heaven, through prayer, worship and fasting, through meditation and solitude, and then bring and release what they received. Minstrels must be very careful not to get caught up in the hype. While you are a vessel of God, you are not God.

2Chr. 5:13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;

2Chr. 5:14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

It says in 2 Chronicles that the minstrels were as ONE. this deals with unity, not just with each other, but with the vision and purpose of the House. Minstrels must be careful to be in sync with the vision and purpose, with the sound of the House. This is why I believe that ideally a minstrel should be assigned to ONE house, and stay loyal to that house. Because if a minstrel is going to and from different houses, many times, sounds begin to blend, and the anointing of the minstrel drops. While the skill may increase, the anointing decreases because it is no longer concentrated in one particular place. The scripture also says that they made ONE SOUND.. they weren’t showboating, they weren’t trying to be the next best thing, their purpose was to present a unified sound so that the people could go into the presence of the Lord. As they did this, the glory filled the House and the priest could not minister.. God ministered. Minstrels, challenge yourself not to be ordinary musicians, but stand out in a place of corruption, perversion and complacency.. be a MINSTREL!!!

The Spirit of Offense: False Loyalty part 2

Ever since I wrote the first blog on False Loyalty I knew that there was more that I had to touch on. The response from the first part was overwhelming. Many find themselves in positions of commitment and loyalty that is actually hurting their spiritual development. In the last blog on False Loyalty we dealt with, on a surface level, motive and intent. I want to spend more time on that and really touch on the Spirit of Offense. False Loyalty and the Spirit of Offense work hand and hand, and many times usually can be signs of deeper dysfunction and abuse.

Deliverance was a very important aspect of Jesus’ earthly ministry. As a matter of fact, the word for salvation in the greek is the word “soteria”, which literally means to be “delivered”. In our western, American, seeker sensitive, politically correct church, we do NOT talk much about deliverance, but I am convinced that we need deliverance in the church like never before. I was thrusted into deliverance ministry when I was 18. Working at a summer camp we constantly had demonic manifestations that we had to deal with head on. This gave me a very in depth understanding of demonic manifestations, activities, and settled for me questions that are still being debated to this day, like: can Christians have demons? Can Children have demons? The answer to both of those of course is yes. But the dynamics became something I was very close with, even when it came to my own deliverance from the occult, cults, perversion and etc. It is interesting to me how many minister believe in deliverance, but only for others, never for them. The reason I am spending time on deliverance is because I believe that False Loyalty is a spirit that works along with self deception and victimization.

False Loyalty will have you out of place for years with the most sincere heart. False Loyalty clouds your destiny from view and has you laboring in vain. What is false loyalty? It is being loyal to a system that means you no good, and has no future for you. The picture perfect example of False Loyalty is with the Children of Israel. In Ex. chapter 1 we have a picture of  prosperous nation of Israel, working hard building a city that had given them shelter for years. After Joseph died and that entire generation, there arose a government that did not remember Joseph, his God, or his people and Pharaoh intimidated.

Now I want to deal with intimidation. Intimidation is a tentacle of witchcraft. It seeks to control others by project a false personality among peers for the purpose of subjugation. We must be careful of intimidation, and the suspicion of intimidation. Intimidation can be project by someone to cause fear on another, BUT sometimes it is inflicted upon ourselves because of a lack of confidence and identity. We must be careful not to be intimidated, especially when intimidation is NOT in the room. Intimidation can be dealt with by a revelation of IDENTITY.

After Pharaoh rose up against Israel and put them in bondage, although they were Kings and Priests, although they were “mightier” than the Egyptians, they did NOT move. This is the beginning of False Loyalty. Although they had there own land, they remained strangers because Egypt was all they knew. Someone who is reading this understand what I am saying. You have been in a place where you know you are NOT growing and being used for your GIFT, but to step out on nothing is far too scary. Faith is a radical aspect of our relationship with God. Faith is trust manifested in action. Faith requires movement and action. Faith requires a decision. Faith is NOT double-minded, for that type of person is totally unstable (James 1:8). Israel had an issue with False Loyalty, and for 400 years of slavery they sat there and PRAYED that God would get them out. People that have an issue with FALSE LOYALTY have what I call the “superman” syndrome. Either they believe that they can change the church that has been doing the same thing for a billion years, or they believe that somehow, some way, someone is going to come and rescue them. Let me tell you something, THERE IS NEVER A CONVENIENT TIME TO STEP OUT IN FAITH. If you wait for the perfect climatic conditions to step out of that place, you will never leave.

Now let’s deal with the Spirit of Offense. The reason I wanted to deal with this is because this is the other side of False Loyalty. In the demonic world, demons operate according to what I call “spectrums”. A spectrum is a range of demonic manifestation within emotions. What do I mean? The Spirit of Fear has many different branches: fear of death, fear of failure, fear of love, fear of rejection, fear of man. Now in the dimension of the Fear of Man, you have a spectrum or a range. On one end it manifests in intimidation, where someone is unable to fulfill their assignment because they are afraid of what people will think and how they will react. Now on the other end of the spectrum we have the totally disregard for man. The fear of man will actually rise up as disrespect and a rejection of honor in the pursuit to nullify “man worship”. You will hear people say, “I don’t submit to a man”, “I don’t worship a man”, “we all the same”, “he put his pants on the same way I do”.. this is actually the fear of man being manifested on the other side of the spectrum. Many times when a person leaves a place that has held them captive for so long, after False Loyalty has been broken, their hearts are very soft, and the slightest inch of correction cause OFFENSE.

People who have been through dramatic church abuse have to be very careful to not fall prey to the Spirit of Offense. Once the Spirit of Offense rises up in a person’s life, it creates a stronghold of demonic activity.

Prov. 18:19 A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city

This verse compares a brother “offended” like a strong city. Every strong city has borders, watchmen and armies. When someone is offended the first thing they do is SET UP BOARDERS. You can only get so close to them. Many times when someone is walking in the Spirit of Offense, the person you meet is NOT the real them. That is their alter-ego that keeps you far enough away to NOT trust you. People who have been offended are also very suspicious people. These people boast about having a gift of discernment, but its nothing but witchcraft working through suspicion. Discernment is not having a weird feeling or not being sure, or not having peace in your “spirit”.. discernment is when God, by the Holy Ghost, reveals to you the origin of a person’s actions, their motive and intent for the purpose of prayer and correction. Lastly, people bound with the Spirit of Offense are very easily upset and defensive. They have their armies on stand by. People who have been offended usually think that everyone is after them and that no one likes them.. this must be handled by deliverance.

As many of you read this you felt like this was written for you. It was. I believe that you should share your story and your struggle with someone that you can trust so deliverance can begin (James 5:16). Do not settle with being bound by False Loyalty, get in a place of covenant and commitment. And if you are offended easily, get delivered.

A New Breed of Pioneers: An Apostolic Revolution

Whether you can sense it or not, there is something significant happening in the Earth. There is arising on the scene a new type of leader, a new quality of leader. While shallow American Christianity tries to maintain its grip on this generation, a different breed of pioneers are on the horizon.. it’s an APOSTOLIC REVOLUTION. When we begin to deal with the dimensions of the apostolic, we must be very careful to make clear that we are NOT in anyway referring to a denominational posture. When we say apostolic we are NOT referring to a doctrinal leaning on a theological position. When we say apostolic we are referring to the nature, anointing and function on an apostle. An apostle is a sent one. An apostle is a pioneer. As many of you know the word apostle comes from the greek word, “apostello”, which literally means one who has been sent. It also implies one with special ability or someone with a special skill. It is liken to the special forces of the military. We are all soldiers in the army of the Lord, but there are some that have been sent on a special mission with a special task. So within the context of apostolic ministry you have:

1. The Office of the Apostle

2. The Apostolic Spirit

3. The Apostolic Anointing

4. Apostolic Operations

Now there are many more subjects that we could name, but for the purpose of this writing, this will suffice. I want to spend a very brief time clarifying the aspects of apostolic ministry and then deal with more specifically, the Apostolic Spirit.

The office of the Apostle is now in the process of restoration. The office of the apostle is the most mentioned office in the New Testament. Being directly mentioned over 70 times and over three times that indirectly, when referring to the apostles, their works and their words. The office of the apostle is one of great importance. 1 Cor. 12:28, says that God has SET first in the Church, apostles.. the word “first” as you know is PROTON, which means first in RANK, ORDER, TIME and IMPORTANCE. Now this does not mean that the apostle has the right to subjugate any other office, but apostles must understand that to whom much is given, much is required (Luke 12:48). Apostles must be very careful to function in teams. Apostles by their very nature, loves to lead, this is why one of the most important times of development for an apostle is service. What is the service record for those that call themselves an apostle? This is the true marker for apostolic ministry. The office of an apostle is that of an ambassador. They lead companies into regions to establish the will, culture, and dynamics of the Kingdom of God. Their grace is to raise up, train, impart, correct and to send out (among many others). Everyone is not an apostle (1 Cor. 12:29). Those who claim the office of the apostle must be tried (Rev. 2:2).

The Apostolic Anointing is likened to the Apostolic Spirit, but there is a difference. The Anointing is given for a particular task, while the spirit is the driving force for movement (which we will get into later). The Apostolic Anointing, like the Apostolic Spirit, can rest upon a House or a Company of people. The Apostolic Anointing usually comes by way of the presence and or impartation of an apostle. The apostle has the ability to release this grace.

Matt. 10:40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Matt. 10:41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

Every governmental gift holds a particular anointing and grace. When room is made for these gifts, their reward becomes available to those who receive them. In 2 Kings 4, a woman builds a house for the double portioned prophet, Elisha, and what was locked in her life was opened. Because she made room for this GIFT, her womb was opened and a year later she received the benefit of her labor. When it comes to receiving a particular gift there is work involved. First, we must create the capacity to receive the GIFT and this requires building. The woman had to build a dimension to hold this anointing. This is very important. This implies that the house that she was in was NOT built to hold this gift. Many of you reading this feel this way. You are in a house that has not made room for your gift and your anointing.. I know how this feels. Now when she builds this “little room”, in it contains a bed, a table, stool, and a candlestick. When making room for the Apostolic Anointing and creating space for this grace to function and flow, there needs to be these things present.

1. Bed– This is a place of intimacy and rest. This is a place of comfort and security. When a gift is given space, they must feel free and trusted to be themselves. This also points to prayer and restoration. Many gifts that will go forth in the house need restoration from previous wounds and long journeys. I believe that when a gift makes a journey from one place to another, from one church to another, there must be a period of recalibration. We see this in Luke 24, when Jesus joins the two on the road to Emmaus. When they get to the end of their journey, they must eat or recalibrate. Every journey has a beginning and an end. We must eat before a journey. During the journey the waste will be released. At the end of a journey we must eat again, for the end of one journey is the beginning of another.

2. Table– This is the place of consumption. This is the place where meat, bread and wine are laid out systematically. Not only must we make room for gifts, but we must understand that in order to receive the fullness of an anointing, that anointing must be given strength to function. This means that we must bless the anointing, or feed the grace for it to stay constant. What does this mean to the Apostolic Anointing. The Apostolic Anointing is fed by creativity, faith and radical obedience. The Apostolic Anointing will die in a traditional atmosphere but will flourish in places that are cutting edge and established to take risks.

3. Stool– The stool is interesting. The stool was used for two things: to sit on and to stand on to reach things that were above the prophet’s head (different message altogether). Now when a stool is given to a gift, it becomes a throne for that gift. Every gift needs a seat. Every gift needs a domain to exact and execute their assignment. The stool represents a place of authority and dominion. Gifts must be SET in the house. A gift that is NOT set in the House does not have honor and authority to operate, this can create major problems and dysfunctions in the development of that gift. The stool also represents the ability to reach higher. This deals with stature and growth. As a gift releases their anointing, when it is received, that gift has the opportunity to grow and reach a strata that was previously not touchable. The stool represents elevated platforms. There must be a platformed established for every gift.

4. Candlestick– This represents light, revelation, but also wisdom and direction. Psa. 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. There must be clear direction for every gift. This includes, but is not limited to, entrance and exit strategies. Every gift must have a way to enter and exit a house without losing honor. Many times these paths are not clear, so it is near impossible for people to leave our churches without feeling shame and guilt, this must be corrected.

When dealing with the Apostolic Anointing, these things must be present. There must be room created for the GIFT to come in and bless the House and only then, at the receiving on this gift, will that anointing flow in the House. To add here, the greatest way to see a consistent flow of Apostolic Oil in a House is to be in a House built and pastored by an apostle.

Now Apostolic Operation deals with the function of an apostle manifested through the corporate body as it relates to government and agenda. Many houses, even in the seeker sensitive community have apostolic operations. While miracles, signs and wonders may not be present, while they may even at times reject the office of an apostle, they themselves are operating apostolically. They are entering into new places and establishing proven models of transformation. While this looks great, usually it carries the Spirit of Capitalism and Franchising. When a House has an apostle present usually they will operate apostolically. Apostolic Operations deal with the way we conduct business. It is surprising to me how many apostolical houses still vote pastors in, still have democratic dynamics.. they are deacon ran, and move in the anointing of “robert’s rules of order”. We must operate apostolically. We will spend time developing this at a later time.

There is a NEW BREED of PIONEERS on the horizon. These new leaders are what I call “mega gifts”. These leaders are DRIVEN by the Apostolic Spirit. This past Sunday, I taught a small lesson on Spiritual Geography and dealt with the principle of Spiritual Earthquakes.

Matt. 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

Matt. 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

There are two times that Earthquakes happen in the spirit: when a King falls, and when a King rises up. In the city of Atlanta we have been experiencing an Earthquake because of the falling of many leaders, but we are about to experience another Earthquake, because KINGS are getting up, thats YOU. This Sunday coming, I will deal with the subject of BREAKING BABYLON. This takes an apostolic spirit. In order to BREAK BABYLON, it takes a pioneer. We will be releasing that grace.

The Apostolic Spirit is what drives innovators, it is what inspires artists and musicians. The Apostolic Spirit is what prompts Abraham to leave Babylon. This spirit frustrates the comfortable. This Spirit attacks complacency and mediocrity. The leaders that are rising up are not just apostles.. but whether they are prophets, evangelists, pastors or teachers, they will have an APOSTOLIC SPIRIT. They will not be driven with the fuel of man, but will be motivated by purpose and destiny. They can NOT be held back. They are people of honor, loyalty and covenant. These people are destiny seekers. They are humble and hardworking. Is this YOU? Are you apart of this NEW BREED of PIONEERS? If so, you probably feel out of place and ahead of your time.. they don’t know where to put you and it seems like it is hard for you to settle.. well let me prophesy to you.. YOUR ROOM IS BEING BUILT and your STOOL is being set in it’s place!!! You are about to walk into a season of cultivation and sonship.

I did NOT write this to be an exhaustive study on the office of the Apostle, but to encourage a generation of leaders that are feeling the pressure of their call and assignment. I wrote this for you.. you looking for that place of acceptance and honor, that place of sonship and mentorship, that place of blessing and release.. stay faithful, stay humble, stay consistent, show honor.. I bless you in Jesus name.

(please excuse any typos)

For the past few months the Lord has really been teaching me about MEGA GIFTS. This journey began when I started studying a Top Ten list of child prodigies. One of the things that stuck out on this list is that none of the great men and women were born with something abnormal. They were born with the same measure of gifting as me.. but what made them great is that their gifts were invested into at an early age. The difference between GREAT and MEDIOCRE is cultivation. Great gifts go through a more strenuous process than regular gifts. Well not only are there MEGA GIFTS, but there are also MEGA GRACES, MEGA CITIES, and MEGA CHURCHES or MEGA HOUSES.

Mark 4:30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

Mark 4:31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

Mark 4:32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

In Luke it says it like this..

Luke 13:19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

The greek word for “great tree” is MEGA DENDRON. These are the types of Houses that are arising in the Earth today.. they are what I call MEGA DENDRONs or MEGA HOUSES. The word “Mega Church” is not foreign to us in the  United States, and has become very normal over the past 30 years worldwide. The term “mega church” has come to be known as a church with 2000 and plus members. I believe that this definition is incomplete. I believe that numerical growth and quantity is very important to the impact of a city, but this can NOT be all a church has. I have heard Prophet Kevin Leal say that if God didn’t care about numbers, why would he have a whole book in the Bible called Numbers. MEGA DENDRONS will be churches of great size, but what will make them “mega” is their IMPACT. Now let’s define the word mega. Mega means large as in capacity. When we deal with capacity we are dealing with how much something can hold. The size of a church’s hard-drive must be measured, especially in the areas of leadership development, cultural engagement, and quality of revelation. How much can your church hold? Many churches want thousands of members, but can you hold thousands of members. Your capacity must be increased. Mega also means great in stature, excellence and of the highest rank. MEGA DENDRONs are high ranking churches in the spirit. They are churches of authority and spiritual warfare and usually are very militant.

Luke says that MEGA DENDRONs start with a seed. Luke 8:11, the seed is the word of God. So mega houses first and foremost are word churches. These are not cults. Mega churches have no place in “off brand” Christianity. Mega Houses must have a strong foundation in Christian doctrine and adhere to it. These churches are strong on doctrine but move by revelation. These are not houses that are stuck in a time-warp. These are cutting edge churches that understand how to make doctrine applicable and doable. Mega Houses are churches that desire the entire counsel of God. They do NOT major on certain doctrines, but fight hard to present a balanced and sound message of the Kingdom of God. Mark 4:31 says that this seed was planted. So this seed is not just the word of God, but the Church itself. The fact that the seed was planted means that it was appointed a certain location. Mega Houses are very careful about where they are planted. Every seed does not grow everywhere. Orange seeds do NOT grow in Ohio. Luke says that this seed was placed in a garden. The garden is the place of order. MEGA DENDRONS are houses of apostolic order. This is the only way a church can grow to have major impact. Order will be evident in a MEGA DENDRON. People will know their proper place and their particular assignment. We all know that when a seed is sown, in order for it to produce, it must die.

John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Mega Houses are churches that have totally died to certain things. If you are going to be a MEGA HOUSE you must die to self gain, perverted ambition, and blurred vision. We have to die to our will, our goals and objectives. What we think is important must die and the goal of the Kingdom of God must become manifest. Luke 13:19 says “IT GREW”. Mega Houses GROW. We have to stop making excuses for a lack of excellence and growth. If your church is not growing something is wrong. “Well I am not called to everybody”.. well if the people you are called to are only you and three other people, then most likely you weren’t called. Growth is a sign of life. Something that is not growing is dying. Mega Houses are always growing in both number and in spiritual maturity. Not only did it grow, but Mark says that it became better than all the herbs. Herbs are used to both heal and season. These two dimensions must be present in Mega Churches: the ability to heal and influence. We must heal our cities and influence our sectors. Mega Houses are churches of influence. You can NOT be a MEGA DENDRON and the city not know you are there. Luke then says “it waxed a great tree” (Luke 13:19), or it became a MEGA DENDRON. GREAT HOUSES are not grown overnight, it takes time. You may not have the characteristics of a great tree now, but if that is what you desire.. KEEP GARDENING!!!

Mark 4:32 ..and shooteth out great branches..

This deals with the reach of the Mega Church. Mega Churches are houses with very strong ministries. These houses raise apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to impact their community and the nations. The dynamic of the evangelist is very important to the MEGA DENDRON. Great Houses are churches of power evangelism. They will stop at nothing to win the lost. But when the lost come, they have the ministries needed to build people to reach their full potential.. now this is a MEGA CHURCH. Its a place of connectivity. Mega Churches stress involvement and fellowship. These houses see commissioning and sending out as a top priority. Luke says that the fowls of the air will lodge in branches, while Mark says under the shadow. Branches again speak of ministry, while shadow speaks of protection.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches… When people come to Mega Churches they must find a place in the branches, this is where life flows. When someone joins a Mega Church and does not get plugged in, they will feel disconnected and never receive what they need to grow. This is one of the reason why many do NOT like mega churches. Mega Churches are usually churches that place a great emphasis on attendance, because this is the only way the ensure that you are getting what you need. Mark says that these fowl will come under the shadow of this great tree. This deals with the aspect of covering. Great Houses are usually apostolic centers of covering. They place a great deal of attention to the ministry of Fathers. Great Houses are domains of Fathers. Hirelings usually do NOT have mega churches. It takes a Father to build a GREAT HOUSE. Great trees provide covering and protection to smaller trees and herbs. They become an apostolic network or hub for kingdom advancement. MEGA DENDRONS are usually Antioch Churches. They are places of spiritual maneuvering. They map out city strategies for churches. Now when we deal with Churches, I believe that there are 5 talents churches, 2 talent churches and 1 talent Churches.

Matt. 25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

Matt. 25:15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

Now we know that the one with 5 talents made 10, and 2 made 4, and the one with 1, he buried his and ended up having it taken away from him and given to someone who had the capacity to see it multiply. MEGA DENDRONS are 5 talent churches. 5 is the number of grace.. these churches have MEGA GRACE.

Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

In MEGA DENDRONS everyone in the House has MEGA GRACE. 5 talent churches know how to manage gifts. They do not hide or sit on gifts in the house. These churches have a strong passion to see gifts raised up in power. Mega Churches usually have several tracks established to get people who believe they have been called to particular ministries from point A to point B. These are places of special miracles. They are training houses. They are equipping houses. 5 talent churches do not settle for inactive members.

Now 2 talent churches can manage gifts, but their capacity is small. They are usually houses of hard work but lack excellence in presentation. They are houses of programs not prayer. They are houses with great marketing but low in miracles. These houses CAN become 5 talents houses, but they will have to become unbound by cultural limitations to reach a much broader community.

Then there are 1 talent houses. These are churches that do NOT know how to handle gifts. Many in churches like these are never discovered and lay dormant for years. These house are big on evangelism, but have no system of integration. They couldn’t train a dog. These churches tend to be very small and have an aversion towards larger ministries. These are house where the pastor does everything, and this is seen as a good thing. 1 talents houses have revivals every week but the church never grows. They are usually deeply denominational and are older in terms of the age of their members.

What type of church do you go to? Are you apart of a 5 talent, 2 talent, or 1 talent house? Are you a pastor and desire to do MEGA THINGS but have a minor staff? MEGA DENDRON ministry is HIGH IMPACT ministry. But remember, they do not grow overnight, and they do NOT grow on accident. Nothing grows on accident. In the 21st century, especially in urbanized areas, these are the churches that are going to influence our cities.. HIGH IMPACT CHURCHES. We must grow mega dendrons, great trees where our cities can be healed and find protection. There is so much more we can say, please SUBSCRIBE to our blog and comment. We are currently building a MEGA DENDRON and we need your help. We would love for you to partner with us in prayer and in finances. You can go and give at If you are in the Atlanta area, come join our team and we SHAKE THE CITY of ATLANTA. For more info:

The issue of false loyalty is a sensitive one.. because it cuts at the heart of our motives and deals directly with our destiny. Loyalty is hard to find in a culture that builds relationships on selfish gain and perverse agendas. The ability to truly enter into a covenant relationship with another is a rare event, and should never be taken lightly. Loyalty seems to be the missing ingredient within our relationships, vocations, and our churches. What is loyalty? Loyalty is a dimension of faithfulness. Loyalty is faith in action as it relates to trust and accountability in a relationship. Loyalty is a display of honor. Loyalty is defined by the World English Dictionary as a feeling of allegiance. Allegiance is connected with the word ally. When you are loyal you are an ally. The word ally is closely related to military operations. Allies are those that stand with you during war. This is loyalty. When you are loyal you are tied to a person, a vision, a church through good times and bad times.

Now what is false loyalty? False loyalty is a deception that many have fallen subject to, rendering them ineffective and stagnant. False loyalty is when you find yourself being loyal to a system that is killing you and keeping you from your purpose. Many of you reading this are in this situation. Because I am planting a church in the Atlanta area, I want to deal with the issue of false loyalty in the church. It is demonic for us to align ourselves with anything that is against God’s purpose for our lives. I believe that there are two components that create space for false loyalty to thrive: a sense of false burden and responsibility, and lack of vision.

Wherever there is a lack of vision there is a lack of direction (Prov. 29:18). Why do we attach ourselves to people and places that have nothing to do with what we are called to? Time is the most valuable commodity that you have. Do not waste time being apart of something that is not shaping you into the leader God has called you to be. When people do not have vision they will stay in places of toxicity for years. Why are you in a church that has never taken time to identify your gifts and dedicate time to their development? Why are you in a church that cares more about what you give than your character? These issues must be addressed and dealt with apostolically. The only way the issue of false loyalty can truly be broken is by exposing motives. Are you dependent upon other people too much? Do you like placing the responsibility of your development into the hands of unqualified men and women because you are afraid to submit to true biblical leadership? Do you abhor being challenged because you know that your weaknesses will show? False loyalty is usually a manifestation of fear, procrastination and ignorance. People fear change, so they stay in places that are causing them much harm. Many are too lazy to seek out churches that will truly develop them. People will stay at a church for years because their grandfather started the church, and even though the church is dead and sabotaging their assignment, they never leave. You are NEVER obligated to be loyal to something that is killing you.

The other reason false loyalty exist is because of a false sense of burden and responsibility. Many times there is an unrealistic expectation. People have the “superman” syndrome. They think that can stay there long enough, do nothing, and there will be change. Brothers and Sisters you are wasting your time. You do not have the responsibility to save an entire church from the bondage of religion. When you stop growing, it’s time for you to start going. Ask yourself, why are you at the church that you are at? False loyalty is not really loyalty. Loyalty misplaced becomes a snare to even the sincere.

Prov. 20:6 Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

Loyalty is hard to find. We whether be loyal to a system that overlooks us, exploits us, and abuses us than truly committing to those that have a desire to see us reach our full potential. A true father will properly direct your loyalty, because wherever your loyalty is will determine where the majority of your time is sown. As someone who covers sons and daughters and has a passion to see next generation leaders raised up, we must deal with false loyalty. Break the connection you have with everything that is not purposeful. Assassinate false loyalty in your life and connect with those who see your future and will stop at nothing to get your there.

The Prophet’s Appetite

The purpose of the Prophet is to stand as the mouth of God in the Earth. The office of the prophet must never be vacant in the Earth, for it is this office that syncs the Body with what our King is saying, and where the word of a king is there is power (Eccl. 8:4). The prophet then becomes a power source for the Body. Every ministry gift and every gift of the spirit is a power source. They are particular engines that drive certain parts of the Body, and when all of these gifts are in sync, the Body progresses and advances in the same direction. This is what Paul was dealing with in the first book to the church at Corinth. Because of their immaturity, there were divisions. So even though there was the abundance of gifts, since there were divisions, the Body still was not advancing properly. This is very important, even in the growth and maturity of a local church or a city house. When all of the gifts are aligned in order (the purpose of apostolic ministry) then the Body can advance in a region.

The prophet is a very significant gift that must not be muzzled in the House of God. Deut. 25:4 Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn. This is a very important principle. The ox is a workman. The oxen would be yoked together, and as they would begin to tread upon the threshing floor, they would get hungry, so they were free to eat from the ground they were treading upon. Some people would get greedy and muzzle the ox so that the ox could not enjoy any of the corn, and their harvest would be more plentiful. This would make the ox tired by reason of his hunger, which would result in a slower, weaker ox that would have to work twice as hard and twice the time to do the job. Prophets must be honored. prophets must not be muzzled in the House of God. Prophets, you must speak.

There are certain atmospheres that cultivate prophets. The atmosphere of faith activates gifts and releases a surge of power to prophesy. Romans 12:6 says that we prophesy according to the proportion of our faith. So as we create an atmosphere of corporate faith, prophets begin to grow in the house. Where there are no prophets the heavens are usually stale and brass. Now as prophets begin to arise in the Earth, there must be fields for them to feed from. Every ministry gifts has a particular diet. These diets are determine by the journey before them. Diets determine Destiny. So prophets must feed on a certain caliber of food.

1Kings 17:3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

1Kings 17:4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

1Kings 17:5 So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

1Kings 17:6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

1Kings 17:7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

Elijah commanded that the Heavens would shut up and yield no rain. He had prophetic power to make the Heavens barren, to close the womb of the Heavens for 3 years. Now when he commanded the Heavens to yield no rain, the Lord told him to go east. East is the direction of prophets. East is the place of revelation. The sun rises in the East. This represents the dawning of a new day, an allotment of light and revelation. So Elijah goes to the east. As prophetic people, we must dwell in the East. This is where Adam lived. The scripture says that God planted a Garden eastward in Eden, and it is there that he placed the man (Gen 2:7-8). Now when Elijah goes to the east, he hides by the brook and God commands the raven to feed him. Now ravens are birds. They are fowls of the air, they are symbols of high level revelation. The ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning and the evening. The morning are new days, the beginning of new eras and the nights are times of rest and ending. This is transition. Prophets must be fed during times of transition. When the old testament was transitioning into the new, John was eating locust and wild honey. Prophets must eat, and there diet must be prepared to give them strength. Daniel couldn’t eat what everyone else was eating, he had a specific diet. Now 1 Kings 17:6 says that he drank from the brook. A brook is a small fresh water stream of water with a distinct current. There are currents in the Earth (called trends) and currents in the Heavens (tunnels of revelation that when accessed are used to move us quickly into areas of knowledge and action.. but thats a different subject). Now Elijah literally, with a combination of no rain and a dry climate, drinks this brook dry. This is the appetite of the prophet.

Prophets have a king’s appetite for revelation. The only way that prophets can be powerful is if there is a consistent stream of revelation released in the House. We must as apostles make sure that we are nurturing the prophetic dimension in our people. This is not just for prophets. Remember that every ministry has a particular diet. And as you release that meat it nurtures that particular grace in the life of your congregation. Prophets many times find themselves in Houses that can not adequately feed them because of a traditional paradigm on anointings and giftings. This must change. So how do you feed prophets?

  1. Activate the engine of intercessory prayer. This must not be an option for the prophets in your house. Prophets should lead intercession and mentor the watchmen of the House. They should create a shield of prayer that is void of gossip and witchcraft. Prophets should not seek to steer a church by what is revealed during prayer. They are the executive cabinet of the House, and should be used to brief the set man on what is happening in the region. At our church in Atlanta, we want to have weekly prophetic briefings. We will do this by phone or by email.
  2. Prophets should operate in companies. 1 Cor. 14:31 says let the prophets prophesy one by one. This creates an atmosphere of sobriety and accountability. When prophets operate in companies, they can feed off each other. This establishes a system of cross-pollination and their well of prophetic power will never run dry. Deep will call to deep.
  3. Raising strong minstrels must be a priority of our House. The deeper we go into the intimate quarters of our God, the stronger our prophets become. 2 Kings 3:15 says now bring me a minstrel.. When the minstrel plays it activates the hand of the Lord. And the hand of the Lord always goes after prophets. The praise and worship dimension of our houses must be deep wells of intimacy. We must utilize prophets during praise and worship. There must be prophetic dancers. This feeds prophets.. it energizes them. When the Song of the Lord is released constantly in the House it becomes a brook for them to drink from.
  4. The meat that is set at the table must be quality. When dealing with steak, steak can be either dry aged or wet aged. Usually apostles and prophets prefer their meat wet aged because it retains some of the blood. Lions and eagles love blood. But the word that is released on a weekly basis must not be milk. It must be meat. It must be able to fill the bellies of our people and remain in their system for days at a time. When the meal is heavy it puts our people to sleep. This is the sleep of Adam, of Abraham, and of Jacob. During times of prophetic hibernation is when God begins to release dreams. Dreams become the gateway for new ideas and inventions to be grabbed.
  5. The last thing we will deal with here is prophetic tracks. Now remember that this is just a small portion of the prophet’s diet. Each individual will have specialize dietary requirements depending on their journey and their appetite. A prophetic track is likened to a school of the prophets. These are tracks to determine the maturation process in a local house. It is curriculum based and should be establish by levels. Meaning that beginning prophets should be introduced to basic prophetic ministry, and elder prophets need deeper study. These curriculums should continue to evolve as the knowledge of the prophetic grows in the House.

These are just some of the ways that you can feed the prophets in your House. I believe that this is a must and is not negotiable if we want to see Houses arise as forces in our cities. The prophetic ministry is not the only ministry that should be emphasized in a House, this is just the subject that we are dealing with at this particular time. If you have a desire to be cultivated as a prophet, or mentored.. or maybe you just need help cultivating your gift. It would be my pleasure to help you in that area. If you are interested in prophetic tracks, mentorship or in need of a father email me at thank you for reading, be blessed.

In every person’s life there are what is known as, WATERSHED MOMENTS. What is a watershed moment? A watershed moment is a critical turning point. What it is actually is a moment in time where everything changes. A point in time when nothing after will ever be the same as before. These are specific moments of major impact in our lives, in our nations, churches and even in our relationships. These moments come to REDEFINE who we are and where we are. These moments are actually times of what I call “localization“. Localization in my own terms is the process of understanding where you are. When Adam was created, according to Genesis chapter 2, he was placed inside a garden that God planted with His own hand named Eden. Eden is the place of Kingdom Order. A garden is different from a forest. A forest is left to itself to grow in chaos.. while a garden is driven towards the dimension of order by force. Wherever you see order, you are seeing FORCE. When you see order, that means force has been applied somewhere. If a person’s life is in order, there has been force applied. If a person’s marriage is in order, it is because force has been applied. When you see a Church in order.. somewhere and at some point someone has decided that this Church couldn’t be ordinary, it had to stand out above the crowd and FORCE was applied. After Adam sinned, he was ejected outside of the ORDERED place, and when God came for their daily Kingdom Briefing, Adam was nowhere to be found. And in Genesis chapter 3, God asked a question that is still traveling throughout the earth.. “Adam, where are you“. Now we know that our God is omniscient, He knows all. He was not asking this question because He did not know the answer. He was asking this question for the sake of “localization”.. before Adam could ever be redeemed, he must first have understood his LOCATION.

When we have WATERSHED MOMENTS, it comes for the purpose of localization. It comes to reveal where we are and where we are going. Where you came from is NOT important. What is important is where you are.. where you are going, and what are you willing to do to get there. Watershed moments also come to REDEFINE us. All of us live in definitions. Without definitions there is no comprehension. If there was no definition to a door, a chair, or toilet, how would I know its purpose. Wherever the purpose of a thing is NOT known, abuse is inevitable. We all live in definitions. I am a husband. I am a Father. I am a Son. I am a Brother. I am a Christian. I am a African American. I am an Apostle. I am a Pastor. These are definitions that are designed to give me purpose and meaning according to my designated assignment. Definitions determine how people approach me. Definitions determine my actions. Definitions can even determine my Destination. A watershed moment or a DESTINY MOMENT comes to redefine you. It comes to remove the limitations of a previous DEFINITION, so you walk in a dimension that you have never walked in. Let’s look at Jesus. In Matthew 16, Jesus asked the apostles a very interesting question. He said, “who do the people think that I am”.. and they replied some say you are this, some Elijah, some Jeremiah.. etc. They put Jesus into a definition of a previous move. Because they mis-defined Jesus, they could only receive from Him according to their definition. But Peter stands up, this is a WATERSHED MOMENT, and says “YOU ARE THE CHRIST”. Once Peter gets this revelation, not only can Peter never go back into the womb of an old season (ask Nicodemas, John 3) but neither can those connected with him. A Destiny Moment comes to REDEFINE you, but in redefining you, everyone connected with you then has to realign themselves with who you are NOW. This can be a very difficult process, but it is necessary for your next level.

It is TIME for you to be REDEFINED. A new place is calling you.. destiny is calling you. Do not settle with ordinary moments in your life.. push for DESTINY MOMENTS. These are moments in time when nothing after will ever be the same as before. This Sunday our Church in Atlanta experienced a DESTINY MOMENT. I believe that the Lord Jesus showed us our future.. and we have decided to live there now. We had a incredible time of praise and worship, we gave with power and grace (we need a new sound system, to donate go here:, and we preached with an anointing to shift the Heavens. Afterwards, our daughter in the ministry, Stephanie Prescott released a poem that literally pulled down an atmosphere of FREEDOM and deliverance was loosed in the House. Through creativity and innovation, the Kingdom was made manifest in a real and powerful way. That was for us a DESTINY MOMENT. What are some DESTINY MOMENTS in your own life? How did they affect you? How did they affect those around you? Where are you now as a result of that MOMENT?
